YMCA Gymnastics camps are a fun-filled week of instruction with gymnastics skilss for boys and girls of all ages and levels . Learn cartwheels, backbends and back handsprings. Each day your child will have instructional rotations on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, Dance and Tumble Track. Gymnastics builds self-esteem, flexibility, self-discipline, strengthens muscles and teaches life skills. Other activities could include climbing rope, games, dance, skits and swimming.

Give your child the experience of competing as Countryside puts on a mock gymanstics meet at the end of the the week. This is an opportunity for beginner, intermediate, and advanced gymnasts to participate in a meet setting. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants!

1:30-2:15 .....Dance or other camp activities
2:15-3:15 ..Swim time – Outdoor Pool & FAC
3:15-3:45 ..................Get Ready for Sign-Out
3:45-4:00 ............Sign-Out – Sign-In/Out Field
Friday
We will have a show for the other camps. Parents are welcome to attend. Campers will perform their dances and then the other camps will join in for a short dance activity. After the other camps leave, gymnastics campers will show off the skills they learned that week to each other.

WHAT TO WEAR
Leotard or elastic waisted shorts and tucked in tee-shirt “NO JEAN SHORTS”.
No zipper, belts, buckles or snaps on clothes.
No Jewelry except for post earrings.
WHAT TO BRING
Gym bag
Gym shoes and flip flops
Bathing suit, Towel, Sunscreen

The campers will learn cheers, chants, and dances formatted for beginning to intermediate level cheerleaders. The campers will also learn various gymnastics skills associated with cheerleading and have the opportunity to tumble in the gymnastics facility. The goal of the camp is to implement good cheer leading skills and techniques that the campers can take with them to their own cheer leading squads.
