Join us for a camp experience unlike any we have offered! Specialty arts camps are 1/2 day camps that consist of a concentrated course in the area offered! Campers will enjoy small class sizes, plenty of instructor attention and the shortened half day format lets campers return home with family or continue their day by signing up for any of our other half-day offerings at Camp Countryside.

ARTS CAMP DAILY SCHEDULE

PUPPETRY

Week 7 - Ages 11-14
Week 9 - Ages 7-10

Campers will choose a story, construct puppets, build scenery, and perform a show. Lessons will focus on both construction and performances, taught by Diane Gibson. Campers should come prepared with a smock or old clothes. All other supplies will be provided.

ART THROUGH THE AGES

Week 8 - Ages 9-13

Campers will be introduced to each daily lesson through an exposure to art history - learning about an artist, studio, or a period of art. Each day students will be working with a different media and will complete five entirely different projects by the end of the week. Class will be led by veteran art instructor Karan Witham-Walsh MFA. Campers should wear older clothes of bring an art shirt.

YOGAKIDS

Week 2 - Ages 6-9
Week 10 - Ages 10-12

Through guidance from certified YogaKids instructor Diana Mallin Sanchez, campers will expereince the many benefits of yoga, including enhanced strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation through fun and challenging poses. Music, games, storytelling, creative arts and earthcare blend seamlessly with yoga to enable children to invaluable skills to help them grow strong physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, also bring a clean towel for yoga outside (weather permitting)

JAZZ/BALLET

Week 6 - Ages 7-10

Enjoy a week long focused expereince in Ballet & Jazz Dance with instructor Ms. Shannon. Campers will learn steps, routines, and have plenty of time to practice. On Friday campers will put on a performance for parents and campers to enjoy. Campers should wear leotard and tights and ballet or jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled up.

THEATER

Week 3 - Ages 6-12
Week 4 - Ages 12-18

Join expereinced theater veteran Bridgette Cox for an incredible theatrical experience. Campers will have 4 days of instruction and practice which will culminate in a performance for fellow campers and parents on Friday. This is an awesome opportunity for beginners and experienced students alike!
